By placing an order through The Readery website, you agree to the terms outlined below. These terms may be updated at any time without prior notice.
Product Availability
Books are sourced from both local and international suppliers and availability depends on supplier stock. If a title becomes unavailable after purchase, you will be contacted and offered a refund or alternative.
Import Orders & Waiting Times
Some books are ordered from international suppliers once a purchase is made. These import orders may take up to 6 weeks to arrive in South Africa before being shipped to you.
Delays caused by suppliers, international shipping, customs clearance, or courier services are outside of The Readery’s control.
Pricing
All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR).
Pricing for imported editions may change without prior notice depending on supplier pricing and fluctuations in the exchange rate. The final price at checkout will apply to your order.
Orders & Payment
Orders are processed once full payment has been received.
Shipping
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout unless otherwise stated. Once an order has been dispatched and handed over to the courier, delivery times are dependent on the courier service.
Packaging & Shipping Damage
The Readery takes care to package books securely to minimise the risk of damage during transit. However, once an order has been handed over to the courier, The Readery cannot be held liable for damage caused by courier handling or negligence.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the packaging and the item. We will do our best to assist where possible.
Minor Cosmetic Imperfections
Minor cosmetic imperfections such as small marks, slightly bent corners, or light shelf wear may occur due to handling by publishers and suppliers. These are considered normal within the book trade and do not qualify for return, replacement, or refund.
Returns & Refunds
Returns are generally not accepted for change of mind. Refunds or replacements may be considered if:
